Thank you, Maggie
This month a few of us met to say goodbye to one of our trustees, Maggie, who has stepped aside from Sing Your Heart Out. Maggie has been a big part of SYHO after setting it up in 2004, when she was Chair of the Mental Health Trust. We will miss her, but she will always be a great ambassador for SYHO. Thank you, Maggie.

SYHO in the snow and ice
This week has been a challenge because of the weather and with many people contacting us to check if our workshops were still happening. In fact, we very rarely cancel a SYHO session. Workshops take place at the advertised time and place and are only cancelled if there is a weather warning saying people should not go out unless essential, or for Health and Safety reasons in a sudden emergency. If a workshop does have to be cancelled we'll do our very best to let people know

New Year Greetings
Our workshops start again next week and we're all looking forward to singing together again after the festive break. We'll be sharing the results of our November survey with you, which you can also download here. Some of you said you'd find it helpful to have name badges, so we'll be making these available if you want one. We wish all our SYHO singers and supporters a happy and peaceful 2026.

Festive wishes
As we approach the Yuletide season we wish you all the very best for the rest of this year and for the year ahead. Looking back over 2025 one of SYHO's highlights was our 'Big Sing' in June. For a reminder of what a great day that was, have a look at this video of everyone singing 'Yote' https://www.syho.org/syho-at-home Our next post in January will include a summary of the recent survey we undertook with our 5 groups. Have a peaceful Christmas and New Year, everyone!

December snippets
Now that December is here we're enjoying some lovely seasonal songs at our workshops. We've also received 120+ responses from our recent survey so thank you to everyone who took part. Once we've processed them we'll share the findings with you. Meanwhile, we came across a very interesting feature on the BBC website about why singing is good for your health and especially singing in groups. You can find out more here: https://www.bbc.com/future/article/20251128-how-singing-c

November workshops
Our workshops are back this week after the half-term break and this month we'll be asking you for your thoughts about SYHO. We love singing with you and are interested in knowing what our charity means to you. If you are willing to (anonymously) share your thoughts and suggestions by answering a few questions, your responses will help us to make it as relevant and enjoyable as possible. Forms will be available at the workshops and can be completed wherever suits you best. All
